Exhibitions are an important tool in architectural communication. They help to define themes, initiate discussions, set trends, and make evaluations. They can awaken interest, convey knowledge, and take positions. However, how can architecture be presented in galleries and museums? What approaches and formats are possible and what potential, as well as challenges, become apparent in the process? Who should be addressed in architectural exhibitions? And how will these exhibitions change in future, especially in view of the use of digital technologies?

In thirteen discussions, representatives of renowned exhibition venues in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland provide an insight into the design and realization of exhibitions. They report about experiences from their curatorial practice and discuss what future perspectives they see for exhibitions as a medium in architectural communication.
